MILITARY DEPARTMENT OF THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE KRAKÓW DISTRICT OF THE HOME ARMY

During World War II, the Polish underground movement carried out activities related to both combat units and secret administration. In Krakow, as in other districts of the Home Army, there was a Military Department. Its main task was to prepare the Polish secret administration to actively participate in the planned general uprising. Despite the fact that 80 years have passed since the end of World War II, our knowledge of the organization and personnel of the MD remains unsatisfactory. Meticulous archival research allows us to systematically fi ll in the gaps in our understanding of the structures of the Polish Underground State.
