THE MEDIATIZED BODY – OR A FEW THOUGHTS ON THE BODY’S MEDIA ADVENTURES
The mediatized body, subjected to media pressure and introduced into media circulation, raises several communicative and philosophical questions. These concern both the subject’s place – its location in a new environment – and its subjectivity. They lead to reflection, in which questions from various discourses intersect and demand a new understanding. They provoke reflection on the mediatized body, its changing properties, as well as on ways to study its new roles and methodologies that would allow for a diagnosis of its use. This article aims to provide a space for reflection on the mediatized body, drawing on the diverse research approaches necessary to study its communicative functions.
