THE IMAGE OF THE MILITARY CHAPLAIN IN THE MEDIA AND HIS SPIRITUAL AND CULTURAL ROLE DURING THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR

The chapter examines the ministry of military chaplains as a segment of the development of spiritual culture during the Russian-Ukrainian war, from 2014 to the present. It explores how the image of the chaplain has evolved in response to service-related challenges and key milestones in modern Ukrainian history. The author highlights the defining characteristics of military chaplains’ service and outlines their primary functions, with reference to the Law of Ukraine “On the Service of a Military Chaplain,” adopted in 2022. Furthermore, the article analyzes portrayals and representations of military chaplains in both Ukrainian and international media, particularly during the full-scale phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
