THE HOME ARMY AND THE PRO-LONDON UNDERGROUND IN THE PROPAGANDA OF THE POLISH WORKERS’ PARTY (PPR) AND THE POLISH UNITED WORKERS’ PARTY (PZPR), AND THE CONCEPT OF BUILDING A NEW STATE IN POLAND. AN ANALYSIS OF THE ISSUE BASED ON SELECTED SPEECHES BY WŁADYSŁAW GOMUŁKA
The aim of the article is to answer the research question whether it was possible to conclude on the basis of Władysław Gomułka’s statements from 1942–1948 that a new political formula for Poland was created. In order to answer this question, Gomułka’s statements were analyzed from the perspective of three research paths: territory, political power and borders of the state. Among all three issues examined during the analysis, it was found that Gomułka’s statements showed signs of the PPR’s willingness to build a new political formula for post-war Poland. The concept of building a new political formula for Poland was obviously contrary to the political aspirations of the Home Army and the Polish government in exile.
