HISTORY, POLITICS AND SALVATION

The issue under scrutiny in the present study is a theological interpretation of the crisis of the contemporary Russian society. The collapse of the USSR led to a deepening of the crisis, which has a long-term character. The basics of identity and belonging to a national community, with shared memory and common destiny, are looked for in history. Particular attention is paid to the difference between new political theology and political religion.
