Synopsis

THE PROBLEM OF POLITICAL TIME STREAMS BALANCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RUSSIAN SOCIETY

The author considers political time as a temporal characteristic of politics. The subject of the article is the problem of time equilibrium of social-political processes in the period of cardinal transformation. It is stated that for the last one hundred years two major time streams coexisted and interacted in the political space of Russia: Soviet and post-Soviet political time. The present is understood as the key mode in the research of these streams, the motivation for specific political actions in the society consciousness is acknowledged and the conclusion that there is a need for coordination of the disengaged temporalities of social groups is drawn. Emigration is considered to be one of the indicators of social perception of political time. The author indicates six significant moments which are accompanied by the processes of political turbulence. The analysis of periods of political time separated by these significant political events leads the author to the conclusion that Russia of the 20th century could be represented as a state of cyclical political time, which suggests the periodical policy shifts with indistinct return to the previous states, values, ideals.
