TEXTUALITY OF NARRATIVE GAMES IN THE MULTIMEDIA WORLD
Games are a medium that appears to rapidly gain in popularity among the recipients of mass-culture. It seems, however, that the increase of interest in them by the average consumer does not result in heightening their status within other forms of artistic expression or in a more pronounced position of games as a subject of cultural studies. Therefore, the article aims at presenting games as a means of value- and information-transfer in general and discusses various types of narrative games as a significant narrative medium, relevant to libraries as well. The author brings attention to diverse aspects of textuality and narratives of games as related to social and media realities of the contemporary world.
