Lingwistyka a logopedia – od teorii do empirii .......... 223
Synopsis
LINGUISTICS AND SPEECH THERAPY – FROM THEORY TO EMPIRICAL SOLUTIONS
Linguistics provides speech therapists with comprehensive knowledge about language and its functioning. Diagnosis and therapy must be based on an in-depth analysis of the linguistic nature of users’ communication difficulties. The text aims to show the linguistic anchoring of speech therapy and the benefits resulting from it. It also briefly describes the nature of humanistic linguistics, which focuses not so much on the language system, but on its acquisition, which has individual nature, and it always takes place in a specific context. This approach, which was successfully promoted among speech therapists by Professor Władysław Miodunka, initiated a new way of thinking about therapy and its description in the speech therapy community.
