Author Biography

Kamil Lipiński, University of Białystok

Assistant professor in the Chair of Cultural and Media Studies at the University of Bialystok. He holds his PhD in Philosophy (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań) and double degree in Cultural Studies (MA) and Philosophy-Social Communication (BA). Lipiński is an author of the book Mapowanie obrazu. Między estetyczną teorią a praktyką (forthcoming 2022). He has also eddited the specjal theme issue entitled „French Cultural Theory: Contexts and Applications in the journal „Sensus Historiae”. He is a Runner-up in 2019 Postgraduate Essay Prize awarded by Postcolonial Studies Association/Journal of Postcolonial Writing. Lipiński was awarded Unique Graduate Grant at Freie Universität Berlin (by Gertrud Koch). Lipiński has published on the visual media arts, French theory, film theory in numerous journals, including Journal of Aesthetics & Culture, French Cultural Studies, Cinéma et Cie, Alphaville, Journal of Film and Media Studies, Iluminace. Journal for Film Theory, History, and Aesthetics, Images. Journal of European Film, Performing Arts and Audiovisual Communication. Co-Chair of NECS Film-Philosphy workgroup.
