ZACHODNIORUSIZM I JEGO RENESANS W KONTEKŚCIE NOWEJ ZIMNEJ WOJNY .......... 118
Synopsis
WEST RUSSIANISIM AND ITS RENASCENCE DURING THE NEW COLD WAR
In recent years, there has been a renaissance of West Rusianism in Belarus. This concept has its roots in the 19th century and originated in the Russian Empire. After its collapse, it was adapted to the needs of Soviet ideology and subsequently, after the collapse of the USSR, the rise of neo-West Russianism has already taken place in independent Belarus. After the events of 2020, this idea, part of the broader concept of Russian world, has clearly returned and is being used as part of the new Cold War. As in the 19th century, Westorussianism has retained its character as a historical and largely socio-political thought.
