THEATER IN TEACHING, BASED ON WORK ON A PLAY WITH STUDENTS OF POLISH STUDIES FROM THE DALIAN UNIVERSITY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The article describes issues related to the implementation of double degree bachelor’s studies at the Jagiellonian University for Polish language students of Dalian University of Foreign Languages. Due to the adaptation problems of Chinese students and the cultural differences that hindered their education in Poland, additional theater classes were introduced to the study syllabus. The article analyzes the impact of the students’ involvement in theater activities and the preparation of a play in Polish, which was later performed in public, on the students and their integration into the new reality. The subsequent stages of working with the students and the benefits of the methods used are discussed. The conclusions are based on a survey that the course instructor conducted among students at the end of the program. They showed that the goals set before the start of the course were achieved in the vast majority of cases.
