RESEARCH ON THE STRATEGIES FOR DEVELOPING TRANSLATION COMPETENCE OF CHINESE STUDENTS LEARNING POLISH

Since the beginning of the 21st century, high-level contacts between Poland and China have been frequent, with both sides cooperating extensively in cultural exchanges and economic cooperation. In this context, there is a growing demand for specialists who speak Polish and Chinese. However, there are significant linguistic differences between Polish and Chinese, which poses a huge challenge for Chinese students learning Polish. Through a literature review, this paper organizes the findings of experts and scholars on the components of translation competence and takes an in-depth look at the unfavorable factors that limit the development of translation competence of Chinese students learning Polish. On this basis, some practical suggestions are proposed, with the hope that they will serve as a reference for reforming the Polish language teaching of Chinese students.
