Synopsis

TADEUSZ RÓŻEWICZ’S PATHS IN CRACOW

This article regards Tadeusz Różewicz’s relations to Cracow, which is considered in the category of an autobiographical place proposed by Małgorzata Czermińska. On the one hand, there is the question of the poet’s biographical relationships with the city, such as time spent here as a student and numerous friendships established then. On the other hand, the subject of the work becomes the image of Cracow emerging from the work of Różewicz. The attention in this section focuses on the memoir character of the literary works dealing with the city, especially on the characteristic for the poet – in relation to Cracow – the city’s phantasm as the space of the dead.
